Logistics Coordinator
Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to take charge of the full shipment lifecycle—from point of origin to final destination. This role is vital in ensuring on-time deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and streamlining communication across departments and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor all inbound and outbound shipments.
Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and brokers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Address and resolve transportation-related issues in real time.
Maintain and organize shipment documentation and communication logs.
Update and track shipment status while proactively notifying stakeholders of changes or delays.
Use transportation management software (TMS) to assign carriers, schedule appointments, and manage shipment data.
Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all shipment requirements are met.
Verify freight bills and support claims processing for damaged or lost shipments.
Utilize GPS data and tracking tools to optimize fleet routes and schedules.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and internal logistics policies.
Prepare reports and analyze data on shipment performance, carrier efficiency, and logistics costs.
Qualifications:
Experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or a related field.
Solid understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and transportation regulations.
Strong communication and real-time problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience using TMS platforms.
Familiarity with LTL, FTL, intermodal, and international shipping.
Understanding of DOT compliance and freight claims processes.
