We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Bookkeping Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial operations and providing exceptional support to our clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts, including bank statements and inter-company accounts.
- Assisting in budget preparation, forecasting, and providing financial analysis.
- Staying current with industry trends and regulations, recommending improvements to accounting processes.
- Owning the client onboarding process and enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Providing bookkeeping services for complex or transitioning clients.
- Maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of client data in our database systems.
- Managing client inquiries, monitoring the company’s email inbox, and addressing urgent requests.
- Collaborating with team members to keep client data up-to-date across all platforms.
- Participating in team meetings to discuss client needs, tax compliance, and communication strategies.
- Offering administrative support, including scheduling appointments and preparing reports.
- Keeping informed of industry best practices and recommending relevant changes to company procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with client management systems (CRM) and database management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive approach to learning and staying updated with industry trends.
- Experience with tax compliance and budget forecasting is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
